A Season of Sundays

Wintering, Pilgrimage and Poetry

If poetry speaks to you, if walking helps you untangle your thoughts, and if a balance of silence and soft dialogue feels healing - this space is yours.

Join me over four Sundays moving gently and intentionally - we’ll walk together, soak in the quiet, and share words of wisdom from our favourite poets as we navigate winter.

Winter is a season of necessary dormancy, inwardness and renewal, and with it comes an opportunity to reflect and traverse our inner worlds with attention and care.

Whether you’re seeking meaning, emotional healing, peace, reflection or connection, allow the rhythm of walking and the medicine of poetry to steady and restore you.

So often the unfurling of a path went in tandem with the unravelling of a human heart.”

- Oliver Smith, On this Holy Island

Everything you need to know

  • Are you:

    • longing for a slower pace, a chance to tend to your inner world and a renewed relationship with yourself and the land?

    • seeking gentle companionship during the winter months?

    • quietly curious and called to explore the interplay of landscape, language, emotion, and meaning?

*Some people wonder whether there will be emotional group sharing moments. The simple answer is no - we aim to keep a sense of lightness. You’re welcome to open up in one-on-one conversations whilst walking with someone if you choose, but it’s not expected. There will be an opportunity to share poetry which is meaningful to you, however again, it’s not compulsory and you are very welcome to simply listen and soak in the words.

  • Sunday Dates:

    January: 11th and 25th‍ ‍

    February: 8th and 22nd

We’ll meet at 10am and finish at approximately 4pm.

On each of the Sundays we’ll walk approximately a 7 mile circular route around one of Wiltshire’s White Horses. We’ll explore a new horse each time, meaning by the end of the series you will have visited four of Wiltshire’s eight White Horses.

I will disclose details of which White Horse we will be meeting at closer to the date of each walk via a WhatsApp group.

    Pace and Fitness

Our pace will be unhurried, focusing more on presence than miles per hour. You will need to be fit enough to walk seven miles including some hills with a few breaks in between.

Up until 2 weeks prior to the first walk you will be able to get a refund (minus the admin fee).

If I need to cancel the walk due to extreme weather circumstances (for example weather warnings are issued), I will first propose a new date for us to walk together. If you are unable to make the new date, I will offer you a refund for the value of that walk.
